Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed as a Tier 1 contractor for public-private partnership developer Hub North Scotland after a competitive supply chain review.

The appointment further boosts Morgan Sindall position to deliver community infrastructure projects in the North region of Scotland.

The company will use its Inverness-based team to deliver projects in the region.

Hub North Scotland is currently working on projects such as the City Centre and Beach Master Plan for Aberdeen City Council and the North Schools Programme, which involves five local authorities.

The organisation has also been named development partner for the Highland Council’s Highland Investment Plan.

Other ongoing projects include the new Peterhead Campus for Aberdeenshire Council.

Morgan Sindall was one of contractors selected following an open application process.

Hub North Scotland chief executive Richard Park said: “I was delighted by the large number of expressions of interest we had for the refresh and after a transparent application exercise, Morgan Sindall and CHAP were successful.”

In a separate development, Morgan Sindall Construction and Bradford College marked topping-out milestone at the £19.3m Junction Mills development, for Bradford College on Thornton Road.

The four-storey building is scheduled to open to students in 2026.

The project has received a Morgan Sindall platinum standard for carbon savings, marking the first such recognition in Yorkshire.

To date, construction activities have saved 182 tonnes of carbon, which corresponds to the annual heating requirements of 67 UK homes, stated Morgan Sindall Construction.

Upcoming work at the development will focus on achieving watertightness, installing windows, completing the steel framing system and cement particle boarding, and continuing with super-structure brickwork.
