The NRP Group, a multifamily housing developer, has revealed the financial closure and ground-breaking of a multifamily community in Matthews, North Carolina, US.
This development is set to provide housing options for working professionals and families, complete with outdoor spaces and retail amenities spanning 18,900ft².
The 15-acre site at 11330 Brigman Road will feature 377 housing units, with 7.5% reserved for families earning 80% or less than the area median income (AMI).
NRP Group vice-president Jason Mochizuki said: “The Matthews [development] represents a rare opportunity to deliver high-quality housing in one of the most supply-constrained submarkets in the Charlotte region.
“Matthews has long been known for its high barriers to entry and thoughtful approach to growth, which makes this ground-breaking all the more meaningful. We’re especially excited about the site’s direct connection to the Sportsplex and nearby trail system, which really speaks to the outdoor lifestyle many residents are looking for.”
The community’s location along Sports Parkway offers access to Charlotte’s employment hubs, with the South End, Uptown, SouthPark, and Ballantyne areas all within a 20-minute drive.

By GlobalDataThe development will include three residential buildings of four to five storeys with a variety of floor plans and a four-level parking garage.
Residents will enjoy a range of amenities such as a resort-style pool, dog park, fitness centre, business centre with coworking space, and retail café.
The design of the new community is inspired by the architectural style of Matthews, aiming to complement the town’s aesthetic.
A significant feature of the project is its direct link to a four-mile bike and walking trail leading to downtown Matthews.
Additionally, the development will offer a 7,500ft² terrace and 35,000ft² of green space for public use.
The NRP Group claims it has placed emphasis on community integration by commissioning public art installations near the clubhouse entrance.
The project’s targeted completion is in November 2026.
It follows the NRP Group’s recent commencement of a mixed-income housing project in Anna, Texas, US.
