Property developer Cathedral Group has secured planning permission from Hillingdon Council in the UK for the £250m redevelopment of the Old Vinyl Factory in Hayes, west London.
The Old Vinyl Factory redevelopment will create 600 housing units, 650,000ft² of business space, a nine-screen Vue Cinemas multiplex and 20,000ft² of family restaurants, cafes and bars.
The redevelopment will also feature a green-energy production centre, car parking space and 180,000ft² of landscaped public space.
Under the redevelopment, older industrial buildings on the site will be refurbished and bought back into use.
After completion, one building will become the home of the new combined heat and power scheme for the entire site featuring the new performance venue.
In April 2011, Cathedral Group and joint venture partner Development Securities had acquired the 17-acre London Gate business park in Hayes, Middlesex.

By GlobalDataIn February 2012, the council had granted consent for the Gatefold Building in the east of the site, which will feature 132 apartments, workshops, a cafe and community space.
Studio Egret West, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) and Duggan Morris Architects were appointed in November 2011 to undertake the redevelopment, which is expected to start by late 2013.
In addition to the Old Vinyl Factory, Hillingdon Council has also approved planning application for two new office developments, spanning 185,000ft² on Hyde Park business park.
Hillingdon Council Cabinet member for Communities, Commerce and Regeneration Richard Mills said: "The planning approvals present a great opportunity for Hayes and should act as a catalyst for further developments."
