Cathedral Group and Development Securities have selected Netherlands-based OMA as masterplanner and lead architect to redevelop Morden Wharf in east London, UK.
Morden Wharf is a 19-acre regeneration site located on London’s Greenwich Peninsula.

Developer Cathedral Group and joint venture partner Development Securities acquired the riverside plot adjacent to the O2 Arena in March 2012.
OMA will now start work on plans for the site, which has the potential to generate a £950m, 2 million ft² mixed-used scheme.
The site is expected to play an important role in the delivery of the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s masterplan proposals for the western side of the Greenwich Peninsula, revealed in April 2012.
Under the Peninsula West masterplan, the council aims to transform the Peninsula into an entertainment zone by focusing development and regeneration, creating multi-purpose sports, entertainment and educational facilities.

By GlobalDataAfter completion, the Peninsula will be home to more than 10,000 people in London and Morden Wharf will be an important site in the development project.
Morden Wharf development will be led by OMA partners in charge Reinier de Graaf and Ellen van Loon, associate in charge Laura Baird, and project director Carol Patterson.
Reinier de Graaf said Morden Wharf is one of the significant riverfront sites on the Thames.
"Our vision for Morden Wharf adds value to an already impressive site through regeneration of existing buildings and infrastructure, which will attract visitors and residents to the site’s cultural, residential, leisure, and commercial offerings," de Graaf said.
