Dewan Architects & Engineers has secured a contract to design Al Bayt 57, a 500,000m² mixed-use development in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The project will feature nine 22-storey towers, a hotel, 1,500 luxury bedroom and penthouse apartment units, commercial office space, a 25,000m² shopping mall, rooftop pools and gyms.

The mixed-use development will also feature a two-storey podium and a basement, which, along with the ground floor, an accommodate 2,500 cars and amenities including driver-rooms, storage areas and service corridors for the mall and hotel.

Sustainable features of the project include both passive and active energy management systems.

Dewan Architects said that the design of the development allows for optimal usage of space and views to the surroundings and the Arabian Sea.

A landscaped plaza will be built between the residential towers to form an entry at ground level, creating controlled outdoor areas.
