The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has launched a competition to design new wing at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
The £90m ($139m) cancer treatment centre was conceived by Guy’s and St Thomas’ in collaboration with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and its shared university partner, King’s College London.

RIBA said the 19,000m² standalone building was expected to be completed in phases.
The competition seeks expressions of interest from contractor and architect teams before 25 March 2010.
The competition jury panel will include architects Simon Allford and Spencer de Grey.
The competition will follow a multistage process, with up to six teams taking part in the design phase, each receiving £20,000 ($30,946).
