A new visual arts building for George Mason University College of Visual and Performing Arts in Virginia, US, designed by US practice Ayers Saint Gross has been unveiled.
The 88,990ft² three-storey building is located next to a public quadrangle and offers flexibility to accommodate changes in teaching methods and curriculum.
The scheme offers administrative and faculty spaces, a gallery, general and art education classrooms and academic and studio spaces for painting and drawing, inter-arts, digital arts, graphic design, sculpture, photography and printmaking.
The building also features a 75-seat lecture hall on the upper level, and a student lounge and cafe.
