CPMG Architects has announced the submission of plans for a new development, Three Wilford Road, on Nottingham’s Southside in the UK.

Designed by CPMG, the new 356-bed development is the latest in its ongoing collaboration with developer Jensco Group.

It will help accommodate the growing student population of the city and features a combination of studio and cluster apartments.

Additionally, the scheme will have activity, social and external spaces, all of which have been designed with the wellbeing of students in mind, providing them with a sustainable alternative.

For Jensco Group, CPMG earlier designed the nearby Ten Traffic Street student accommodation, which is slated for completion ahead of the 2022/23 academic year.

Jensco Group director Nigel Bobroff said: “Three Wilford Road will be a high-quality and sensitively designed, car-free, purpose-built student housing development, with vastly improved public realm and fantastic transport links to both universities.

“Nottingham is seeing continued growth at both universities and with 64,000 students, there remain about 30,000 students unable to access purpose-built accommodation, with close to 20,000 students living in houses that could provide homes for local families.”

Planning consultant P&DG, heritage consultant Wessex and landscape architect Ares are part of the project team.

The team also comprises structural and civil engineer Hexa Consulting and MEP consultant CPW.

The brickwork façade of the Three Wilford Road scheme nods back to the industrial heritage of the city.

With a modern feel, the overall design of the development contributes to the Southside area’s ongoing regeneration.

The scheme ranges between six and 20 storeys in height and has been designed to be sustainable.

It also contributes towards Nottingham Carbon Neutral 2028 pledge.
