Westfield Garden State Plaza mall in New Jersey is set to undergo a refurbishment programme as part of efforts to enhance shopping experiences for its customers.
The upgrades are scheduled to commence next month, and will see the opening of a new dining hall and children's play area, as well as interior spaces and newly designed seating.
Additional improvements will include the introduction of a digital infrastructure offering Wi-Fi services, wayfinding and beacon technology, and music systems in addition to new digital services for retailers.
Westfield Garden State Plaza senior general manager Bryan Gaus said: "We are truly excited about Westfield Garden State Plaza's aesthetic and digital upgrades.
"This revitalisation will allow us to be on the forefront of creating truly unique and memorable shopping experiences for our customers."
The project also includes establishing new building and energy management systems, energy-efficient cooling systems and improved security operations equipped with modern, back-of-house access controls.
Construction and development work will be conducted after mall hours to ensure the site remains accessible to the shoppers and business is not affected.
The property has recently been upgraded with the introduction of new valet parking areas, entry points, modernised restrooms and flooring.
Westfield Garden State Plaza’s current retail lineup includes brands such as Design Within Reach, Zara, Kneipp, Vineyard Vines, Philosophy, IntimissimiItalian lingerie, and Penhaligon's.
The mall is soon expected to house other brands, such as Amazon Books, Nespresso, Fabletics, and Mighty Quinn's BBQ, as well as the first US-based Marc Cain store later this year.
