Architecture firm Richard Meier & Partners has unveiled the designs of a new residential unit named Villa Gardone, part of a villa complex in the Gardone Riviera, Italy.
The residential building is located 300 metres from Lake Garda and sits on an east facing slope opening south towards the lake.
The design of the building involves a pair of rectangular solids positioned perpendicular to each other and arranged on top of one another in a manner that is parallel and crosswise to the slope.
The living rooms and bedrooms are located on top of the structure, perpendicular to the slope which offers maximum view of the lake as well as the advantage of southern exposure and natural light.
The lower part of the structure will house a garage which is positioned parallel to the slope, opening up towards the access road.
The construction work of the project is projected to be completed by 2014.
