The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.64% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.6% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50.52% in February 2022, registering a 7.69% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.49% share, an increase of 1.59% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.66%, registering a 3.64% decline from January 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.02%, up 25% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 21.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s construction industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Ferrovial posted 38 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a drop of 2.56% over the previous month, followed by Arcadis UK (Holdings) with 35 jobs and a flat growth. Danfoss with 31 IT jobs and Babcock International Group with 28 jobs, recorded a 31.11% decline and a 64.71% growth, respectively, while Mott MacDonald Group recorded a decline of 14.81% with 23 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.81%, up by 4.71% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.27% share, registered a decline of 2.9% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.6% share, down 6.25% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.32%, recording a month-on-month increase of 125%.
