IT jobs accounted for a 3.8% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering an increase of 0.39% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 40.91% in June 2022, a 42.11% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 27.27% in June 2022, marking an 80% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.64% in June 2022, an 80% rise from May 2022.

Top five construction companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 250% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s construction industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Dangote Cement posted 13 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Honeywell International with 8 jobs and a flat growth. AECOM with 6 IT jobs and Majid Al Futtaim Holding with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 400% rise, respectively, while Vinci recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s construction industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 22.73% share in June 2022, a 36.36% increase over May 2022. Nigeria featured next with a 15.15% share, up 900% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 7.58% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.09%, up by 56% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.82% share, registered a growth of 90.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.09% share, down 33.33% over May 2022.
