The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.12% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.43% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.23% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 38.64% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
Komatsu posted 27 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 42.11% over the previous month, followed by The GPT Group with 16 jobs and a 14.29% growth. Aurecon Group with 6 IT jobs and Willow Technology Corporation with 6 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a 50% growth, respectively, while KBR recorded an increase of 100% with 6 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.46%, down by 33.33% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 29.81% share, registered an increase of 34.78% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.73% share, up 75% over April 2022.
