Australia’s construction industry registered a 12.4% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.46% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.8% share in November 2022, recording an increase of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 92.72% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry in November 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 23.18% in November 2022, registering a 31.37% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 21.19% share, a decrease of 27.27% over the previous month.
3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 20.53%, registering a 55.71% decline from October 2022.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 13.91%, up 50% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 6.94% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
Komatsu posted 18 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Hatch with 13 jobs and a flat growth. WesTrac with 13 IT jobs and Actividades de Construccion y Servicios with 12 jobs, recorded a 160% growth and a 29.41% decrease, respectively, while National Storage REIT recorded a decline of 42.11% with 11 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.85%, down by 23.08% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 15.23% share, registered a decline of 25.81% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.92% share, down 35.71% over October 2022.
