US practice Architects Design Group (ADG) has started work on a mixed-use 31-storey tower, Oceanique project, in Plymouth, England.
According to the company, demolition work has started to make way for the £89m ($139m) tower, which is touted to be the tallest building in the south-west region.
The 113m-tall tower project is sited in an area of 500,000ft² and is being developed for UK property developer Devington Homes.
The scheme features the creation of a public space and a high-quality hotel as well as retail and commercial spaces including proposed bars and restaurants.
The integrated mixed-use development will include 65,000ft² of office area, 172 luxury apartments and affordable housing.
The scheme’s design is intended to exceed the 10% statutory requirement for onsite renewables and features extensive green roofing systems, biomass boilers and a site-wide CHP system.
