London-based practice Muf has been appointed as the curator of the British Pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale.
The practice beat Fat, Shumon Basar, the Office for Subversive Architecture and Andrew Feear of Rural Studio to win the commission.
The British Council wanted the proposals to focus on collaboration, spatial experience, to provide a relationship to the British Pavilion architecture and enable adaptation or transformation.
Muf’s approach, to be known as Two Way Traffic, has been found to make spatial connections and enable knowledge exchange between Venice and Britain.
“People in architecture” is the theme for the 2010 architecture biennale to be held in Venice from 29 August to 21 November.
