The Friargate development in Coventry in the UK, designed by Allies and Morrison, has been given the green light for the outline proposals.
The £1.5bn ($2.4bn) scheme is sited opposite Coventry train station and is bordered by Station Square, Manor Road, Warwick Road, Greyfriars Green and Grosvenor Road.
The area will to be transformed into a commercial sector housing 300,000m² of office space in 14 new buildings.
The Friargate development will house 26 buildings in total, including hotels, homes, retail and restaurant units, as well as public spaces and a new square in front of the Grade II-listed Coventry train station.
