UK-based Weston Williamson Architects has unveiled its design for a proposed railway station in Miami, US.
The 75m-long elevated railway station will be situated between the Miami Art Museum and Miami Science Museum and is expected to serve as a transport link.
Weston is currently working with engineers to develop the scheme, which is similar to the firm’s London City Airport Docklands Light Railway station.
The design features a central island platform with tracks for the elevated railway running either side, topped with an ETFE roof that will change colour.
The project is expected to cost about £5m.
The project won the fourth place at the annual DawnTown: Architecture Ideas Competition, beating a hundred other entries.
