UK practice Glenn Howells Architects has been appointed to transform the 150-acre National Memorial Arboretum (NMa) in Staffordshire, England, into a world-class centre for rememberance.

The $13.1m scheme will feature an armed forces pavilion, heroes square, and an exhibition and education area. Retail, catering and office facilities will also be upgraded.

The surrounding landscape will be redesigned to connect the old and new developments.

NMA is the home of the Armed Forces Memorial, a structure that recognises the contribution of those who have died on duty or as a result of terrorist action since the Second World War.
