US-based Heery International has completed construction of phase II of the Adams County Justice Center expansion in Colorado, US.

The $28m expansion is similar in design to the original and features a 103,000ft² courthouse, lobby, 12 courtrooms and ten alternative dispute resolution (ADR) conference rooms.

The latest courtroom technology, acoustics and integrated audio-visual systems have been put into place as part of the expansion.

Increased lobby and screening areas and a new 500-seat jury room, with clerks’ offices, public counters and landscaped gardens have been created.

Ten shelled future courtrooms, hearing rooms and ADR conference rooms on the second and third floors are provided to meet the future requirements of the courthouse.

The new expansion is angled away from the original building to avoid blockage of views and insight for future development.

A bus transport driveway and garage areas have been earmarked for the Justice Center’s south campus.

Clad in solar fins and high-performance glass offer shade interiors and cut backs on energy consumption and is built with steel, pre-cast concrete and glass.

Phase III will include more expansion and lobby addition and an east wing.
