The £8.9m Jerwood Dance House, designed by London firm John Lyall Architects has been unveiled in Ipswich, UK.

The Dance House is part of a £70m redevelopment of the Ipswich waterfront.

The 2,500m² building features four custom-built dance studios, a 200-seat studio theatre outfitted with production facilities, dressing rooms, therapy suites and green rooms.

The development also houses the new headquarters for Dance East – a UK dance organisation, a café and a public courtyard with views of the adjacent waterfront.

The project has been funded by a host of private and public partnerships, including a Capital Lottery Grant from Arts Council England, East of England Development Agency, Ipswich Borough Council, the Jerwood Foundation and the Garfield Weston Foundation.
