Chinese-born American architect IM Pei has been named as the winner of the 2010 RIBA Royal Gold Medal in the UK.

The Queen will present the medal to the architect in an official ceremony on 11 February 2010 at RIBA’s Portland Place headquarters.

The 92-year-old architect has worked on 170 projects and 50 master plans, which include a small private pavilion in Wiltshire, England, and the famed on Louvre Museum in Paris, including the iconic glazed pyramid.
