Dutch architectural firm Waterstudio has created a master plan where housing, ecology and water storage will be combined in a multifunctional zone.

The New Water project, which is located in low-lying area of Holland between The Hague, the beach and Rotterdam, comprises 820,000m² with 1,200 houses, 600 of which will have floating foundations.

The plan will help rebuild a 200-year-old artificial landscape and expand the storage capacity incorporating new water-based concepts and technologies, including floating houses, large islands, and floating roads and gardens.

The project is scheduled to be complete in 2017.
