A master plan for a £10m revamp of Victoria Park in Wast London has been drawn by the London Development Authority (LDA).

The East London park, which is expected to be a key route into the 2012 Olympics, includes a new urban beach by one of the park’s two lakes.

LDA has worked with architect Randall Shaw Billingham on the project, which will see an artificial waterfall created by the second lake, as well as wild flower meadows and an ‘old English garden’.

A skate park, bowling green, football and rugby grounds and cricket pitches will be built for sporting enthusiasts using the park – at a cost of £5m.
