UK practice Carillion is set to start work on a £30m project in September 2009.
The Cornwallis Academy project, which is a part of an £118m batch of five academies is designed by architecture and project management company Jestico + Whiles.
Once complete, the academy will arrange classrooms and facilities around a large central space to accommodate 1,765 pupils.
The academy, to be a part of the New Line Learning Trust Federation, will include a number of large teaching blocks to accommodate up to 130 pupils.
The project is expected to be complete by July 2011.
