Danish design firm 3XN will not be working on the new £65m Museum of Liverpool, even though it had already started work on the design, a report in the Liverpool Daily Post says today.
The publication says Museum of Liverpool bosses terminated the contract with the design winner and instead appointed Manchester-based AEW to take over the project.

AEW have already played a part in the project, which 3XN won over a competitive field including Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield and Daniel Libeskind.
It is said that AEW’s design would be based on the winning submission and said that construction would still be finished by 2010.
Museum chiefs did not say why 3XN had been removed from the project.
A report on Builder & Engineer online says disputes over cost cutting and 3XN’s unwillingness to accept interference in the design process could have played a part.
