French President Nicholas Sarkozy is rumoured to have met with some of the world’s leading architects including Zaha Hadid, Lord Norman Foster and Richard Rogers and Jean Nouvel to discuss plans for a modern French skyline.

It will be the President’s first effort to boost French architecture, which is said to have staggered in recent years as other European contemporaries such as Spain and Britain have flourished.

It is hoped the talks will lead to a public debate around architectural issues that have surrounded the cities, according to a report in UK newspaper The Guardian today.
