Danish architect firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has taken a novel approach with its latest design proposal – creating a 1:50-scale LEGO model and posting footage of it on YouTube.

BIG’s LEGO Towers is a residential, retail and hotel development aimed at condensed living for a new Copenhagen development.

The model is planned to go on show at an exhibition at Storefront for Architecture and Design in New York on 2 October, where five other proposals for the site will be shown.

BIG’s model has already gained a lot of media attention – it required 250,000 LEGO bricks and took five weeks to build, according to the firm.
