The 2007 Pritzker Architecture Prize winner, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners has received approval for its mixed use 44-storey tower, which will alter the skyline of London’s Elephant and Castle district in the borough of Southwark.

The building, to sit where the old London Park Hotel once rested, will be part of Lend Lease and Oakmayne’s £1.5bn regeneration of the area.

Part of a London-wide initiative to increase affordable housing under in the area, the building will become home to the Southwark Playhouse, a public square, cafes and an education space, according to reports.
