Renowned LA architect Frank Gehry – the designer of the Walt Disney Concert Hall – is to design a set for a performance by a Portuguese fado singer who will be perform at the hall.

Gehry, 78, is expected to create a tavern-style setting for singer Mariza who will perform at the centre in October.

But Gehry told news service The Associated Press that the public should not expect a Gehry-style landscape – Portuguese fado is a style of folk music with mournful lyrics, and Gehry will try and recreate its ambience on stage.
