Iricav Due consortium is set to commence work on the first phase of the €5bn high-speed/high-capacity (HS/HC) Verona-Padua railway line in Italy later this year.
The Anaklia Development Consortium (ADC) has been awarded the exclusive right by the government of Georgia to build, develop and operate the $2.5bn Anaklia Deep Sea Port.
A consortium led by Eiffage Génie Civil has been awarded a €200M contract by the French government space agency (CNES) for the construction of Ariane 6 ELA 4 launch complex in Guiana.The Ariane 6 programme, approved by European Space Agency (ESA) in 2014, aims to minimise the cost of space launch by half compared to Ariane 5.CNES was handed the responsibility to develop the programme’s ground facilities at the Guiana Space Centre and in February issued an European tender invitation for the construction of the ELA 4 infrastructure, which has now been awarded to Eclair6 consortium.The consortium will be responsible for the construction of all ELA 4 structures, including the launch pad and its two flame trenches, the 6,000t, 90m-high mobile service gantry and the BAL launcher assembly building. The project will require 7,000t of reinforcement, 400,000cb m of earth and 7,500t of structural steel.Construction is set to start immediately and is scheduled to be complete in October 2018, with the first Ariane 6 launch scheduled for late 2020.
3Angle consortium has secured a €220M contract from the Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) for the A27/A1 motorway project in the Netherlands.The scope of the project will include the design, construction, management, maintenance, and financing for the reconstruction of the A27 motorway between Utrecht North and the Eemnes junction, as well as the A1 motorway between the Eemnes junction and the Bunschoten-Spakenburg connection.The project also includes the widening of the A27 from 2x2 to 2x3 lanes and the widening of the A1 from 2x2 to 2x4 lanes. The consortium will also widen the A27-A1 connecting curve within the Eemnes junction.Under the contract, 3Angle will manage and do the maintenance of the A27/A1 motorway for a period of 25 years.The final project contract is expected to be awarded by the end of July, with a financial close expected in October. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-2019.
Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) has awarded four work package contracts worth MYR4.2bn (about $1bn) for the construction of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line in Malaysia. The contracts include two viaduct and two systems work packages.MRT Corp has awarded the MYR1.62bn ($401.6M) Systems Work Package SY203 to HAP Consortium for the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of electric trains and depot equipment for the SSP Line. A consortium of Bombardier (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Global Rail Sdn Bhd has won the second systems work package, Package SY201, valued at MYR458.02M ($113.5M) and covering the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the signalling and train control system for the SSP Line. IJM Construction has secured Work Package V203 worth MYR1.47bn ($364.4M) for the construction of the 4.6km viaduct guideway and other associated works from Jinjang to Jalan Ipoh North Portal.Malaysian Resources Corporation has won Work Package V210 valued at MYR648M ($160.6M) for the construction and completion of the 2.6km viaduct guideway and other associated works from Persiaran APEC, Cyberjaya to Putrajaya Sentral.
The Canberra Metro consortium has been selected to deliver the first stage of the Capital Metro light rail project in Australia.
