A wholly-owned subsidiary of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co has received tax equity financing commitments from MidAmerican Wind Tax Equity Holdings, a Berkshire Hathaway Energy subsidiary, and Citi for its 160MW Rattlesnake Wind Project in McCulloch County, Texas.

The $250M wind farm will feature 64 Goldwind’s GW 109/2.5MW Permanent Magnet Direct Drive (PMDD) wind turbines.

Goldwind chairman Wu Gang said: “We are very pleased to partner with world-class institutions Berkshire Hathaway Energy and Citi on this innovative and breakthrough deal.

“Their support is a testament to the performance and reliability of Goldwind’s Permanent Magnet Direct Drive (PMDD) wind turbine technology, with its industry-leading availability.”

The wind farm will create about 250 construction and service-related jobs. Once operational, the project will become Goldwind’s largest wind project in the US to date.
