Construction firm Multiplex has started construction on LK Property Group’s $300M retail and residential development in Melbourne, Australia.

Located on the corner of Toorak Road and Chapel Street in South Yarra, the six‐star project will feature 400 luxury apartments across two towers: the 10‐storey Capitol Grand Tower and the 50‐storey LK Tower.

Designed by Bates Smart Architects, Capitol Grand will include a 24‐hour concierge, an exquisite lobby, private pools, gyms, dining areas and Jack Merlo designed elevated gardens.

The development will also feature dining establishments, three levels of retail space, and a six‐level basement car park for residents.

According to Multiplex, residents who purchase an apartment on Level 32 or above will have their own entrance and three dedicated lifts. They will also have access to the Azure Club that will feature a gym, lounges, dining rooms and an infinity pool.

Graham Cottam, Multiplex regional managing director, said: “Capitol Grand is set to be a truly unique world‐class building and we are delighted to be entrusted with its delivery.

“Our recent completions in Victoria including Bella Apartments, Platinum Tower, Southbank Grand Apartments and Southbank Central Apartments, are all testament to our ability to overcome the many complexities associated with building in a busy CBD environment.”

The project will create about 500 construction jobs and is expected to be complete in late 2019.
