UK-based Winvic Construction has broken ground on £80m logistics/manufacturing warehouse project in Luton, Bedfordshire in the UK.

The project, dubbed Panattoni Park Luton, is being developed by logistics developer Panattoni.

It includes Luton 345 and Luton 69 logistics/manufacturing warehouse units, located adjacent to the newly built junction 11A of the M1 motorway.

The Luton 345 unit, which will have haunch height of 15m, offers 345,000ft² of space and an additional 13,500ft² of offices over two floors, while the second warehouse, Luton 69, is 69,000ft² in height and provides 7,700ft² of office space.

Winvic, as the contractor, is responsible for carrying out the associated civil and infrastructure work, including car and lorry parking at both Luton 69 and Luton 345 units.

Winvic director Danny Nelson said: “Our relationship with Panattoni has gone from strength to strength, and starting another project together – over a short amount of time – illustrates how hard our whole company works to create robust bonds with clients.

"We are focused on meeting, and exceeding, expectations and are proud that our values help to position us as a trusted leader in the industrial sector. We are looking forward to handing over these high quality facilities to Panattoni by the end of year.”

Planned to be completed by the end of 2019, the project will benefit from fast access via the M1 to the A5 north of Dunstable. It will also benefit from its own new dedicated bus route and bus stop, Panattoni said.

Savills and M1 Agency serve as the agents for the new scheme.

Panattoni UK development director James Watson said: “Having appointed Winvic on a number of occasions, we are confident their management and construction of this project will be of the highest standards."

Currently, Winvic is working on industrial schemes including Plot N at Derby Commercial Park, and Plot 1, a 522,000ft² warehouse at East Midlands Distribution Centre for Panattoni.

Earlier, Winvic has completed civil and infrastructure project at Junction 16 of the M1, Midway Park, Northampton.
