Wanda Group, Auchan Group to develop €3bn theme park in Paris

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has won a contract to build a main plant package for the 2x800MW Uppur Supercritical Thermal Power Project (TPP) in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, India.

Chinese developer Dalian Wanda Group and French retail group Auchan Group have agreed to invest in a €3bn retail and leisure project in Paris.


The integrated cultural, tourism and commercial project is located adjacent to the Charles de Gaulle Airport in the northeast, about 10km from downtown Paris.


The development covers 80 hectares, a total floor area of 760,000 sq m, featuring an indoor and outdoor theme park, a large stage show, hotels, a business centre and a conference centre.


When completed, the project is due to become a new cultural tourism landmark in Europe.


The project is expected to create 20,000 jobs during construction phase and 14,000 jobs after it opens.
