The Comol5 joint venture (JV) has won a €492M contract from the Province of South Holland for the construction of the Rijnland Route in the Netherlands.
The new route will connect Katwijk, via the A44, to the A4 at Leiden in South Holland.
The scope of the contract includes the reconstruction of the Leiden West motorway junction and the construction of the 4km new road N434, including a 2.2km tunnel.
The JV will be also responsible for the widening of 12km of motorway and adaptations to the A4 and A44 required for construction of the route.
According to Vinci, the Rijnland Route will improve accessibility and traffic flow in the region, and stimulate economic growth.
The contract, which will take about six years to complete, comprises 15 years of maintenance.
The JV comprises Mobilis and Croonwolter&Dros, DEME Infra Marine Contractors and Vinci Construction Grands Projets, each with a 25% stake in the contract.
