Roy Anderson, a subsidiary of construction company Tutor Perini, has won a contract worth approximately $88m from the Charleston County Aviation Authority for a new five-storey, parking garage at Charleston International Airport in Charleston, South Carolina, US.

Scope of work includes a pedestrian walkway, new roadway, landscaping, elevator core/lobby and renovations to the existing walkway/circulation area.

Construction on the 1m ft², 3,000-space, cast-in-place project is expected to commence in January 2019 with substantial completion anticipated in 2020.

In January 2018, Roy Anderson had secured three projects valued at $67m.

The company won two hotel projects at Liberty Station – Hampton Inn & Suites and TownePlace Suites, San Diego, California, from LSH 1 and LSH 2, a partnership of InterMountain Management and McMillin Companies.

The two contracts are together worth approximately $50m.

The hotels, located on a former Naval Training Center, which showcase the military history of the site, are located close to the San Diego International Airport, the Gaslamp Quarter, the San Diego Convention Center and San Diego Bay.

Hampton Inn & Suites comprises four storeys consisting of 181 rooms and 96,795ft².

TownePlace Suites consists of five storeys and comprise 222 rooms and 133,316ft².

Both projects are expected to be completed later in 2019.

The third contract has been secured from The National WWII Museum for the National WWII Museum Hall of Democracy, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The contract is worth approximately $17m.

Located in the heart of the National WWII Museum’s campus, the Hall of Democracy is a 34,800ft² pavilion dedicated to the museum’s research, WWII content, expertise and outreach to visitors, educators, students and scholars around the world.

Through new online and learning initiatives, the pavilion will allow the public more access to the museum’s digitised collection of oral histories, photographs, artefacts and archives.

The pavilion will house a special exhibits gallery; Institute for the Study of War and Democracy, a hive of WWII historical expertise; WWII Media and Education Center with production studios and broadcast capabilities; and a library to support research and public engagement.

Substantial completion of the work on the project is expected in 2019.
