Construction firm Tutor Perini has won an $80M contract from the U.S. Air Force to design and build the Khurais Electronic Warfare Range in Saudi Arabia for the Royal Saudi Air Force.
The project was awarded through the federal Foreign Military Sales program and will be funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The scope of the work will involve the design and construction of several facilities, including the range operations facility, the labourers quarters, the access control facility, the security facility, the maintenance workshop facility, storage facilities, crew facilities, a mosque, towers, and range targets.
Plans also include a C-130 assault strip and other supporting range infrastructure, as well as all utilities, parking lots and access roads within the complex.
The construction work will be managed by Tutor Perini’s subsidiary Perini Management Services. California-based firm Tetra Tech will be responsible for delivering architect-engineering services.
Construction work is expected to commence in early 2017 and be concluded by early 2019.
