Tilal Properties is set to build a major commercial and retail destination in Sharjah, UAE.

The Tilal Mall — to be located at the heart of the Tilal City project — will encompass 186,000sq m, making it the largest mall and commercial hub in the UAE’s city.

It will include high-end brands, a multi-screen cinema, family entertainment centres, culinary outlets, and a hypermarket.

The mall will also include a 65ha recreational park, featuring event spaces, amphitheatres, pavilions, waterfalls, plazas, restaurants, and kiosks. The park will also feature outdoor fitness and exercise facilities.

Tilal Properties’ chairman Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said: “Our vision is to completely integrate Sharjah’s real-estate and property sector, with our vision in developing the largest premium and fully-serviced residential and commercial communities in the emirate.”

Design and consultancy firm Arcadis was chosen to provide architectural, engineering and cost consultancy services on the project, while the construction contract is expected to be awarded before the close of the year.

Construction work is set to start in mid-2017, with the official opening scheduled for 2019.
