Tekfen Construction has secured a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP).
Under the contract, Tekfen will construct two compressor stations and four metering stations of the 1,850km pipeline.
The contract is estimated to cost $457m, and will be completed with 39 months.
The tender for the project was opened on 26 June 2015, with 11 local and foreign shortlisted firms as participants.
TANAP is expected to initially carry 16 billion cubic metres of gas annually from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz II field in the Caspian Sea, and will be gradually increased to 31 billion cubic metres.
Nearly six billion cubic metres of the gas will be delivered to Turkey, with the balance to be supplied to Europe.
