Engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin has won an $800m oil and gas contract in the Middle East.

The project will include the development of the infrastructure, as well as processing facilities for a gas field.

SNC-Lavalin’s scope of work under the lump sum turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract will involve connecting gas producing wells into the main processing plant.

SNC-Lavalin president for oil and gas Christian Brown said: “A substantial award such as this shows our continued focus on our clients and the resilience of our business model, despite the ongoing pressures in the industry.

“We are very pleased to grow our project portfolio with this key client and are excited to be combining resources from Valerus, our gas handling and processing experts, with our strong engineering team to deliver this project.”
