
Swedish construction firm Skanska has secured a SEK710M ($80M) order from the municipality of Lund for the construction of a new tramway in Lund, Sweden.
The new tramway will run between Lund Central Station and the European Spallation Source (ESS), and will include nine news stops.
The scope of the project includes 5.5km of double track, a new bridge, traffic devices and the installation of track, electrical, signal and telecom in the urban environment.
Construction work on the project will commence on 1 March 2017. The tramway will be ready for trail run by the end of 2018.
