Skanska wins $60M tunnels revamp contract in Norway

Swedish construction firm Skanska has bagged a NOK516M ($60.4M) contract to renovate two road tunnels in Oslo, Norway.

Under the terms of the contract, awarded by Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Skanska will renovate the Ekeberg and Svartdal tunnels on the E6/E18.

The scope of work includes primarily electrical work, fire protection and improved cleaning solution for water from the tunnels.

It also involves the construction of new technical buildings, the upgrading of evacuation routes, the addition of a new layer of asphalt, and replacement of all signs.
 
Work on the project is expected to commence in the summer of 2017 and be concluded before summer 2019.
