Skanska JV wins $200M hospital expansion contract in US

Skanska in a joint venture with Gates Construction has secured a $200M contract from Lee Memorial Health System to expand and refurbish the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.


The project will include the creation of 34,000sq m of new space and about 4,500sq m of renovations. It will also involve three additional floors, as well as many horizontal expansions.

Furthermore, the development will include a parking facility which will be able to accommodate 1,300 vehicles.

Work on the project will commence in June 2016 and is set to be completed in February 2021.
