Skanska invests $112M in Washington housing project

Construction firm Skanska is investing $112M in a new luxury apartment building in Washington, US.

The project will be developed and owned by Skanska USA Commercial Development, while Skanska USA Building will serve as the construction manager for the development.

The scope of the project will involve the construction of a new 12-storey, 326-unit housing building, which will include ground-floor restaurant and retail space. The building is aimed to achieve LEED Silver certification.

Construction on the project will commence in October 2016 and is scheduled to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The project forms part of a three-building, mixed-use development that Skanska is currently planning, and will offer 54,000sq m of office space, 2,800sq m of restaurants and retail and an open-air courtyard.
