Samsung C&T has secured a SGD450m ($320m) contract from the State Courts of Singapore for the construction of the State Courts Towers.
The scope of the contract will involve the construction of two connected towers with an estimated gross floor area of 113,000 sq m.
The project will include two towers, each about 178m high, with an area of 113,000 sq m. They will be connected by a series of sky bridges that enable the controlled circulation of court visitors and staff of the State Courts.
It will feature the courtrooms, hearing chambers and court supporting functions, while the Office Tower will accommodate the offices and other support functions.
Designed to be eco-friendly, the towers will feature naturally-ventilated corridors, high-rise gardens and solar power panels.
Construction work is anticipated to commence by the second quarter of 2016, with the State Courts Towers slated to be operational from 2020.
Upon completion, the State Courts Towers will accommodate more than 60 courtrooms and 50 hearing chambers.
