University Partnerships Programme (UPP) has been selected as the preferred bidder to deliver a new £130M student housing project for the University of Hull in the UK.

UPP will raise the required investment and will be responsible for the project’s design, construction and operation.

The nine-storey development will involve the construction of single rooms and one-bedroom apartments for 1,450 students.

UPP group CEO Sean O’Shea said: “This scheme responds to the growing demand from students for high-quality, on-campus accommodation, as well as the University of Hull’s commitment to offering the best student experiences.

“UPP’s research into the experiences of students shows satisfaction with the non-academic side of university is higher among first year students who live in purpose-built student accommodation.”

Construction is expected to commence in May 2017 and be finished by the end of 2019.
