Developer Nikal has submitted a planning application for the second phase of the £70M Altair project in Altrincham, UK.
Phase two of the project will involve the construction of four buildings featuring 91 apartments, 4,087 sq m of retail space, 1,858 sq m of office space and a 200-capacity basement car park.
A new central boulevard will connect the site to the new Transport Interchange.
Preliminary works, along with demolition and enabling works, are already underway on the 4.5-acre site to make way for the construction of the project’s first phase, which will include the construction of a building with 59 apartments and ground floor retail space.
Nikal’s managing director Nick Payne said: “We’re excited to be sharing our vision for Altair as a dynamic and thriving new Quarter in modern Altrincham. Phase two reveals how Altair will complement the town’s existing offering and help attract new residents, workers, businesses, shoppers and visitors from near and far.”
Outline planning permission for the overall project was granted in 2014. Planning consent for Altair’s second phase is expected in April 2017.
