Birmingham City Council has given the green light to a proposed 25-storey hotel project in Hill Street, Birmingham.
BLOC Grand Central — designed by Glenn Howells Architects — will include 238 rooms, a double height entrance lobby and a cafe restaurant.
The building’s design has been ‘commended’ by the national architectural watchdog CABE.
Glenn Howells from Glenn Howells Architects said: “We are delighted to be working with fellow Birmingham-based company BLOC Hotels on a bespoke building for the heart of the city.
“The building is situated at an important gateway site within Birmingham City Centre and offers the opportunity to define a benchmark for the future regeneration of this part of the city.”
