Canadian real estate development firm ONE Properties and Revera have broken ground on new retirement residence in Edmonton, Canada.

The 23-storey senior living residence is planned to be named as Revera Glenora Park Retirement Residence.

Located at 10150 Clifton Place NW, near 124th Street and 102nd Avenue in Edmonton, the Glenora Park will feature up to 290 residential retirement suites, practical design in the spacious, light-filled suites; and two luxurious penthouse suites.

The project also features an indoor saltwater swimming pool, a fitness centre, a golf simulator, library and games room, outdoor terrace with barbecue facilities, salon and spa.

Scheduled to be open in fall 2021, the project is expected to employ about 100 people upon completion.

ONE Properties said that the joint venture will combine its development expertise with Revera’s extensive operational experience to design the project and create customer-centred senior living choices.

Revera president and CEO Thomas Wellner said: “This stunning location offers the perfect backdrop for what will be an exceptional new option in Edmonton for older adults who are looking for an elegant, welcoming environment in which to live and age in place.

“We are delighted to partner with ONE Properties on Glenora Park, which is an exciting addition to our expanding portfolio in a province that is playing an important role in Revera’s long-term growth strategy.”

ONE Properties serves as the developer for the project, while Revera will design the project. Revera will also manage the marketing and operations for the residence in future.

ONE Properties president and CEO Darren Durstling said: “Glenora Park’s scenic location overlooking the river valley combined with contemporary suites and common areas creates a unique addition to the seniors’ housing market in Edmonton.

“We’re excited to break ground on the next phase of this development, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Revera to bring similar products to other key urban markets.”
